East Asia Project Rubric

Here is the Rubric which will be used to grade your East Asia books.

It is very simple to use. If you look in your East Asia book and select an art work you can even try to give your self a grade. Go on give it a go. Be honest with your self!


Term 1. East Asia project.

Criterion A Knowledge and understanding

Painting and making artworks using Oriental artsources and techniques.

You must demonstrate knowledge of and an ability to use oriental painting techniques.
You must produce a reproduction of an Oriental painting to demonstrate these skills.

You have acquired limited understanding and knowledge of Oriental art and find it difficult to express this orally or in your work. Your “Oriental” art work is unfinished.

3-4

You show a basic understanding of Oriental art painting techniques. You can use some subject specific terminology to show critical awareness. Your “Oriental” art work is poorly finished.

5-6

You have a good understanding of elements of Oriental painting techniques and have applied this knowledge to improve the quality of your work. You can discuss aspects of Oriental art and use subject specific terminology. Your “Oriental” art work is finished.
7

You understand elements of Oriental painting. You confidently use subject specific terminology and know the names of artists studied. You have good research skills and have read and understood information found on this topic. You have used this to improve the quality of your work. Your “Oriental” art work is finished.
